Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a prescription?

A prescription is preferred, but your insurance dictates whether or not it is required. You can find this out ahead of time by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card or possibly on their website.

I have medical insurance, will I have to pay anything?

Possibly. Again, this is determined by your insurance plan. This can also be discovered by calling customer service or checking your plan’s website.

Be prepared to pay your Copay, Coinsurance, or any deductible that applies at sign in for each visit.

We do check your benefits the day of your first appointment, or before if we have the information, and try to give you an idea of any amount you may be responsible for.

How often will I be seen by my therapist?

The average course of treatment is 1-3 times per week for 3 to 4 weeks depending on the condition for which you are being treated. Once your therapist evaluates you, he or she will decide how many visits you may need. Some insurances limit the amount of physical therapy treatments, so this is another consideration.

What should I have available when I schedule my first appointment?

It’s best to have your referral from your doctor handy, as well as insurance card and your appointment calendar.

What will I need for my first appointment?

Bring your insurance card(s), ID and also if needed, the referral or authorization if you have either in your possession. Also remember to bring a method of payment for any amount due. If you picked up your paperwork ahead of time or printed them from this website (see For Patients), be sure to bring them. If not, please come 15 minutes early to allow time to fill out the paperwork before your scheduled appointment time. Having the paperwork completed ahead of time will ensure that the most amount of time is spent with your therapist. And don’t forget your reading glasses!

How long will my appointment last?

The first appointment will last approximately an hour. You’ll want to allow about 45 minutes for subsequent visits.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
